Both single and double resident rooms
feature a direct visual connection between the resident and the toilet area.
The single rooms open up the toilet area to the room to enhance this direct connection.
Privacy is provided by a cubicle curtain. The double rooms are configured to provide
direct views from both bed locations to, again, encourage toilet use.
Wood trim and indirect lighting in the toilet areas lessen the harsh, antiseptic feeling
sometimes associated with long-term care facilities. Dividing walls between the bed areas
provide a high level of privacy for each individual resident.
Large windows located to have direct views from beds give the rooms an open, airy, and
bright feeling. Venting windows are located above the fixed units to assist staff in
controlling vent operation and to open the window sight lines for bed level views.
Residential style furniture is used in the rooms to diminish their institutional feel.
When complete the rooms will feature coordinated bedspreads and window treatments as well
as accent artwork. |
