Village School of
Northfield, MN
This
new facility is planned to reinforce the K-12 charter schools philosophy of
wholeness though a strong community, environmental awareness, and sustainable living. The
newly founded Center for Sustainable Living will also be housed inside. The site, along a
beautiful stretch of the scenic Cannon River, will become part of the schools
outdoor curriculum space. A neighboring detention pond area backs up to the school site
and expands to the south the natural setting around the school. The
"green" building is planned to minimize impact on the environment through the
use of sustainable materials, daylighting, integrated energy-efficient equipment, and
natural systems of ventilation and passive solar heating. |

High School
Renovations and Alterations
The renovation and
addition to the Northfield High School provides significant increases in educational
capacity in several departments, as well as replacing the facilitys heating plant
and electrical service with new, efficient, state-of-the-art systems that will serve the
District for decades to come. Most of the work is accomplished within the existing
building footprint; new construction is minimized. |
