City of Buffalo Sturges Park Bandshelll

As part of a comprehensive park trails and building improvements, PDG provided the design of various structures at Sturges Park, Sturges Estates/ Mills Park, Lions Park and Family Recreation Area.

Four Pavilions, one Storage Building, one Restroom/ Concession Stand and a Bandshell were structures built.

Project highlighted is the Bandshell located in Sturges Park. The intended use of the Bandshell is to provide a facility to be used weekly during the summer for community activities. The primary design criteria was to allow the Buffalo Symphony Orchestra (sixty members strong) a venue for summer concerts. Major design elements required “acoustically designed” walls and ceiling, proper site lines for audience (seating by blankets and lawn chairs) and required electrical infrastructure.

This project has been completed and has furnished the general public a park like setting for community events during the summer.
