Apollo Dental Care Facility
Rochester, Minnesota
Drawing on past Dental Clinic design experience, the PDG team met a modified fast-track schedule which allowed the client to achieve its move-in date-- a deadline set well before the beginning of the design phase. This deadline was driven by a new demand for “managed dental care” and dictated completion within months. A successful working relationship with this client led to a 9,500 sq. ft. building presenting a positive statement about the client’s ability to provide quality dental service.
The success of this relationship allowed PDG to complete this project on time and on budget, providing a quality image in an efficient technical facility.
Various disciplines were brought together to meet the requirements of this design-build project. Dental and interior design consultation, landscape architecture and civil engineering, structural and mechanical engineering and architecture came together with the general contractor-- working as a team to produce the best possible facility. Additional cost evaluation from a real estate perspective researched anticipated market values to further structure the business fit successfully.
A flexible spatial program was developed which would accommodate multiple specialties with varied uses. A future expansion area was integrated with highly functional immediate-need program areas--all under the mandate of stringent tolerances for the size and layout of operatories.
Issues of maintenance, clear circulation avenues, acoustics and client comfort were resolved with an efficient, high quality building which relates an image of quality dental care.
