City of Howard Lake
Library Expansion & City Hall Offices
Understanding the overall mission of the client, while balancing immediate needs with future goals, is the essence of a quality feasibility study.
Growth in and around the City of Howard Lake is reflected in its Police Department, City Hall offices, and Library, where crowded conditions prompted a planning study. The viability of expansion at a small city-owned site was investigated. Key goals included expansion of the Howard Lake Library, adjacent to a new City Hall with shared support spaces.
In addition to interior building programming of the library and City Hall’s technical and spatial needs, proposed site developments include a “Town square” park, which presents a welcoming civic image along heavily traveled U.S. Highway 12.
