Fire Station Design Planning
Red Wing, MN - Chanhassen, MN, - Inver Grove Heights, Mn

Today’s fire fighters must receive continual educational and physical training to meet the demands placed on them to be constantly prepared to provide immediate response to a multitude of scenarios including fire calls, accident and EMS, first responders, homeland security threats, hazardous materials, natural disasters, and mass casualty events.

To meet these demands, our staff will help you sift through the seemingly endless list of design consideration that must be addressed in the planning of a modern fire station. Combining expertise and experience with information gathered from discussions with fire department staff ensures that the unique service requirements and operational goals of a new fire station are adequately reflected in the architectural design.

Typical space needs may include living quarters, fitness, recreation and day rooms, administration, dispatch, training, community education, equipment and vehicle storage/apparatus bays, equipment and vehicle maintenance, and hazardous materials storage. These spaces all need to be designed with considerations for occupant quality of life in which a safe and healthy environment can be maintained. Air quality, proper ventilation, natural lighting and a secure facility as well as finishes, textures and colors all play vital roles in delivering a final product that reflects the professionalism of today’s firefighters.
