Belle Plaine Clinic The New Belle Plaine Clinic is a cooperative project between the Queen of Peace Hospital of New Prague and The Lutheran Home Association: Belle Plaine. The 7,000 square foot clinic, operated by the Southern Metro Medical Clinics, answers the need for a new medical facility in Belle Plaine while providing on-site medical care for the residents of the Lutheran Home. The clinic forwards the mission of the Lutheran Home as another element in the "Village of Care" concept for the Lutheran Home Masterplan. |

The Lutheran
Home: Belle Plaine Special Care Residence This project was funded through a moratorium exception process through the State of Minnesota. It includes the addition of 15,840 square feet of care facilities for Alzheimer's and dementia residents. Special attention was given the lighting of the facility as well as the selection of finishes to provide clarity and contrast between floors and walls; walls and doors, etc... The result is a slight net reduction in the number of beds that the facility serves, but a reorganization of resident care. The new unit will allow for very specific care options for Alzheimer's and dementia residents. The remodeled areas allow for closer proximity to therapy areas and a new nurse's station. PDG is currently administering the construction of the new unit and remodeling. The Contractor was invited to bid with several others, with a stipulated sum contract. Construction is scheduled to be complete in July of 1999 for the new residence. |

Apollo Dental A rapidly changing dental provider climate required Apollo Dental Center be completed on a short schedule. Professional Design Group teamed up with the owner to fast-track design-build a facility reflecting the owner’s philosophy of providing high quality dentistry and a positive dental experience in a managed care environment. The 9,500 square foot dental and specialty center supports efficient, productive dental practice while creating an environment for personalized comfortable care. |

Laura Baker Services
Association The Laura Baker Services Association provides residential and educational services in a variety of settings to people with developmental disabilities. Professional Design Group was selected to design a Campus Master Plan and New Cottage Prototype to be located in Northfield, Minnesota. Initial master planning addressed layout issues of three new cottages, considering the demolition of Graves Hall, along with exterior activity areas, parking, and service delivery. The new cottages were designed to accommodate six clients with kitchen, dining, utility, office, and storage space. The prototype then was to be repeated for two additional facilities. |
